Wayne First Events

Since its beginning, Wayne First: The Campaign for Wayne State University has been a catalyst for change. Many of the funding objectives established at the campaign’s outset have been met, transforming the campus landscape and stimulating scholarship and research activities that amplify Wayne State’s reputation as a world-class institution.

As the end of the campaign approaches, we are accelerating our efforts to secure gifts and pledges from alumni and friends to help us meet our unmet needs. During the past few months, Wayne State hosted get-togethers across the country to share the Wayne First message with a wider audience and to encourage others to invest in the university. Hundreds of alumni and friends came out for gatherings in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C., as well as for our campus kickoff celebration in January.

You can click on the links at the right to view photographs from each of the events. If you haven’t been to campus for a while, you also will probably enjoy our “Then and Now” presentation, which includes some snapshots from Wayne State’s past as well as a perspective on our campus today.

Our road tour continues into 2008 with even more exciting celebrations of the campaign’s remarkable success, which is helping set the stage for a brighter tomorrow. We will host gatherings across Michigan as well as in Florida, Georgia, Washington, California, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Start watching the mail for your invitations to festivities in your area!
