Sunday, January 6, 2008Historically, at the end of the holiday season we have held a “campus celebration” to bring together special friends of the university in a festive setting. This year, however, we are celebrating a new phase of our record-breaking capital campaign — Wayne First: The Campaign for Wayne State University. We will be just as festive, but for a different reason!

Six of the country’s liveliest cities — Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C. — hosted gatherings of Wayne State University alumni and friends last fall. Now it is time to bring the festivities home and kick off the campaign’s final year.
Join us on Sunday, January 6, 2008 to begin the countdown to the successful completion of Wayne First. The event will begin a yearlong effort by the university to connect with alumni, donors and friends to share news about Wayne State’s accomplishments and boost enthusiasm to help us close out the campaign.
The Countdown Kick-off will be held in The Towers Residential Suites, Wayne State’s newest residence hall, which boasts views as far as the Ambassador Bridge. The festivities will include a strolling buffet; live music to entertain you and the Detroit premier of an inspiring and touching Wayne State video.
